Harry Webster

My name is Harry Webster and I’m a 27 year old IT professional living in the Peak District. I enjoy all types of software, hardware, network and business development. I have been in the IT industry since I was 16 being trained while doing the job from entry level programming positions to senior level and management level roles for global multi million pound enterprises.

Software Development

I have worked in a number of datacenters involved in everything from hardware installations, time critical replacements, emergency repairs/catastrophic failure on everything from cobolt raq 3′s to modern IBM, Dell, HP etc servers.

I have on a number of occasions been involed in live datacenter migrations (both physically moving hardware and data migration moves).

In addition to this I have worked building all forms of desktop machines, phone systems etc.

Networking

  • Load balancing (LVS-NAT, TUN and DR, as well as DNS round-robin and IPTABLES balancing).
  • Office networking installations, patch panelling, VOIP etc.

Server Systems and Website Frameworks

  • A number of Website frameworks – Confidential
  • PBX Online Telephone Exchange, built and written bespoke management portal.
  • Large scale DNS platforms with management interface
  • Large scale email hosting platforms
  • Large scale domain sales, provisioning systems (daily.co.uk, 123-reg.co.uk)
  • Payment systems including PCIDSS compliance
  • Virtual server build both for development and production environments – VMWare, Xen etc.
  • Database replication and clustering.

  • API development using many different mechanisms depending on the projects requirement and prerequisites – eg XMLRPC (such as SOAP), KVP, JSON etc
